A Shortcut to Dissolving Old Stories & Embodying Your True Self
How to Easily Ditch What No Longer Serves (and Shed the BS at the Core of Our Fraying Systems)
A very strange (and strangely wise) women once told me that a person’s predominant emotional reaction (anger, fear, resentment, feeling like a victim) was like a predator ever on the lookout for prey—in this case, a person or situation to project itself on to.
She went on to say that if a person could let go of the seed of the reaction itself, all the stories that ruled their sense of self, others, the world and reality, would collapse (in a good way!)
This kind of collapse might seem like it would radically uncomfortable because so much of so-called reality washes away at once. But as a person with a TON of Scorpio in my chart, it made me giddy.
It profoundly shifted the way I approached hypnotherapy—and life itself. Breaking the chains of the so-called reality that held my world in place became an obsession.
It still is.
As a clinical hypnotherapist, I started helping my clients get way beneath their stories to the energies that held multiple shared storylines in place. As they released them, they made major, often radical shifts.
Of course, this level of change isn’t for everyone. In part, because we are attached to our stories. They hold our world in place and give us our place in that world.
But if we want to move past the stories that hold our old, fraying, domination game systems in place, we need to radically reset our own personal stories. Because a lot of what drives us—for money and other survival needs, for likes and shares, for love and acceptance, and so on—are fueled by old stories that belong to the stage play of our old world and the collective stories that held it in place.
Letting go of particular shared stories—like the ten-thousand faces of the Domination Game—will come over time in later posts. But because we resist things that challenge our stories, I wanted to give you this shortcut in stealth mode. Kinda as a way to trick various levels of mind into creating space for something new to emerge.
If you’re game.
Why This Shortcut Works (Even If Your Eyes are Rolling)
Because of the way our bodies and brains learn and store patterns, each of our nervous systems has loyally carried the old stories (and the emotional conditioning that hold them in place) in our subconscious minds long past their expiration date. These are stored in the deep subconscious mind, largely inaccessible to the thinking mind.
The subconscious mind doesn’t respond to the logic of the thinking mind. It speaks in metaphor, symbol & vibration. Thes shortcut then, is to use these intentionally to rewire the subconscious mind, nervous system, and the patterns they live from. There are LOTS of approaches to using this strategy to collapse individual stories, but with this post we’re going to bypass the stories and go for gold.
Why? Because as the systems we were conditioned to trust prove to be deceptive and engineered to benefit the few, we need to develop trust in our own inner wisdom systems, which are NOT part of the thinking mind—or at least not yet.
The track I created below provides the vibrational support for healing and transformation. This 285Hz frequency is known as the "cellular tuning" frequency—used to help restructure energy fields, support deep healing, and encourage the body’s innate ability to restore.
Using breath and visualization as you listen turns it into a transformational powerhouse. This post’s transformation focus is to trust your inner wisdom to release old stories that no longer serve you without your mind getting in the way.
It’s a two-fer, really. Learning to trust the path of deep wisdom & being willing to let go of old stories and energies in a wholesale, plowed earth kind of way.
This isn’t a one-and-done practice, but it is a GREAT way to start jettisoning old baggage bit by bit to make the journey forward lighter, freer, and less encumbered. It’s also deeply relaxing and refreshing. So, keep coming back.
The Magical Metaphor of Light
Light is a wildly adaptable symbol that that your body and subconscious mind deeply understand. Light cleanses, illuminates, melts, warms, and much, much more! I suggest using golden light, but you can use sunlight, moonlight, divine light, whatever light speaks to you.
In this process you are using metaphor and visualization to let your body and subconscious what you want it to do. Don’t get freaked by taking anything you see or sense too literally. You are in deep conversation with your body wisdom and your thinking mind may try to sabotage this. Don’t take it personally, that’s just what thinking minds do.
Step One:
With your eyes closed in a relaxed place, listen to the music as you inhale through the nose and out through the mouth, helping your body feel safe slowing down.
Continue until your body feels relaxed and receptive—this is the vibration space of allowing and receiving that lets shift happen most easily in the body and mind.
Step Two:
Continue listening to the music as you visualize old stories or energies as dark, dense blobs in your body.
Step Three:
Visualize as you inhale that you are inhaling soft golden light into your body and particularly into the dark, dense blobs.
Imagine the light dissolving the dense, dark blobs (that represent old stories, energies & patterns), see them breaking up from a solid into tiny particles.
Then imagine exhaling out the particles like mist.
As you do repeatedly do this, you’re not just visualizing, you’re transmitting a new truth to your system that it’s safe to let go & that you don’t need to carry the old energy anymore.
But it’s not enough to just let go. To transform, you need to fill the space left behind with something new. Light is a wonderful metaphor for that, too. It is a symbol of high energy, of divine connection, of possibility.
Step Four:
As the density leaves, see the space it vacates filling with light as you continue to inhale light, See the light circulating through your system as it unravels the old energies.
Keep doing this until you see, feel, or sense that your whole body is full of radiant light.
Step Five:
Now filled with light, relax and keep breathing with the music to let your body and mind integrate the new truth—that you are free of the old and infused with new possibility.
This is how you rewrite your reality using metaphor & vibration—gently, breath by breath, image by image, while in a vibrationally-aligned state.
Easy-peasy, right?!?!
And kind of counter intuitive. A lot of transformation is taught as a grind: push harder, dig deeper, fix the thing.
But in my experience the most powerful shifts don’t come from pushing—the come from softening, imagining, and feeling a new state into being.
Got the gist? Then press play!
Critical Step: Notice What Shifts
A funny (in an ironic way) thing I noticed when working with clients, especially when we doing the radical change kind of work, is that when the sense of “me” shifts into something that has your friends and family doing a double take, it doesn’t always feel like you’ve made a shift because you still feel like “me.”
When I’d ask about the pattern of, say, yelling in the car on the way home from work each day while reliving an imagined fight with the boss, to, say, a new pattern of listening to a podcast and noticing the blooming flowers on a pleasant ride home, clients would often say they didn’t even notice the change. Or that it just felt like a natural shift. Or, one guy said, he noticed, but he attributed it to a new habit of drinking orange juice in the morning instead of coffee.
Really?!?!?
What this demonstrates though, is that deep change at the subconscious level doesn’t have to be disruptive or scary. It’s about you becoming a happier and more functional version of you in a very natural (and lickity-split!) way.
It helps, however, to notice the shifts. The big ones and the small ones. This lets you realize that you are indeed changing, and helps you appreciate the transformational journey as you go along. Even if you keep feeling like “me” the whole time.
I’d love to hear what you noticed—and sharing can help others on the journey.
If This Resonated, Share the Love!
Don’t just do this once and file it away. Make it a ritual for inner revolution—in a rejuvenating kind of way.
Come back often. Especially when the old stories get loud, or your nervous system needs a whisper of light.
And share the love with others who are itching for easy change. Transformation is a journey best traveled with friends!
Remember: you don’t need to effort your way into your next chapter.
Sometimes, you just need to breathe out the last one.
Peace, Kristine
