Affirmations? Ugh, right?!?!? That was me until I realized that effective affirmations weren’t about changing external circumstances but shifting my internal state.
In Part 1, we looked at the game-changing affirmation I use daily: “Everything always supports my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow” and how this turned my broken heat pump into a cosmic alignment win. Now, let’s dig into how affirmations rewire your nervous system so you can ditch fear and start living from possibility.
The truth is that your nervous system is probably operating on outdated software. Blame it on your learned self—that part of you shaped by childhood lessons, societal expectations, and every awkward moment you’d rather forget. It clings to old patterns like an internet browser from 1995. Sure, it’s familiar, but it’s slow, glitchy, and terrible at adapting to change.
This learned self is why affirmations often fall flat. If you tell yourself, “I’m wildly successful!” but your subconscious mind and nervous system are wired to believe, “Life is hard and success requires suffering,” you're going to get more hard knocks and suffering.
That’s where your quantum self comes in—the expansive, intuitive part of you that’s ready to ditch the dial-up connection and step into infinite possibility. And guess what? Affirmations—done right—are one of the best tools to help bridge the gap between your outdated learned self and the upgraded quantum version of you. They can rewire your brain and nervous system to allow your quantum self—the intuitive, expansive part of you that thrives in possibility—to run the show.
How Affirmations Rewire the Nervous System
Your nervous system is like a programmable operating system, constantly shaped by what you think, feel, and believe. When you repeat a thought or react a certain way, you strengthen neural pathways that make that response automatic. This is why fear-based reactions (like catastrophizing) feel so natural—they’ve been hardwired through repetition.
Affirmations work by disrupting these old pathways and creating new ones.
By repeating a single possibility-based affirmation, like: “Everything always supports my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow”, you redirect your nervous system away from its automatic fear responses and introduce new patterns of trust, curiosity, and openness. 3 Ways to Build the Affirmation into Your Body
Ready to make affirmations actually do something? The secret is pairing them with quantum-connected states that shift your body out of survival mode and into trust, and rewire your nervous system at a deeper level.
1. Curiosity: Turn the Affirmation into a Question
Instead of repeating an affirmation like it’s a to-do list item, turn it into a question:
“How does everything always support my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow?”
Your brain loves questions. It’s like a detective looking for clues. When you say things like “Why does everything suck?!” your brain rolls out the red carpet of reasons life sucks, spiraling you down a slimy, swampy drain of despair with the plethora of proof that life sucks.
You can turn this natural brain function to your advantage by asking, “How does everything always support my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow?” When you ask this, your conscious mind starts searching for proof that the affirmation is true—even if you have a slate of evidence to the contrary. You get even more bang for your buck when you ask it in a relaxed, quantum-aligned state because it trains your subconscious mind to expect support and alignment rather than resistance. Asking this question regularly on both levels shifts it from a statement to an invitation for possibility.
Why It Works:
Curiosity hijacks your brain’s fear-response loop by shifting focus away from “what’s wrong.”
It activates the problem-solving parts of your brain, pulling focus away from catastrophizing.
Each piece of “proof” it finds strengthens neural pathways for trust and alignment.
How to Practice:
Pause, take a deep breath, and ask with a sense of curiosity:
“How does everything support my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow?”
Notice how your body responds and pay attention to what thoughts or memories bubble up.
2. Gratitude: Amplify with Thanks
Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotional states for rewiring your nervous system. Instead of just saying the affirmation, pair it with heartfelt thankfulness:
“Thank you that everything always supports my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow.”
Gratitude adds a biochemical magic that floods your brain with feel-good chemicals like serotonin and dopamine, calming the fear circuits and moving you into a state of openness and trust. Gratitude signals your nervous system that you are safe, calms reactivity, and helps wire you for possibility.

Gratitude releases dopamine and serotonin, the “feel-good” chemicals that enhance neural plasticity (your brain’s ability to form new connections).

How to Practice:
Bring to mind something you’re genuinely grateful for, no matter how small. Once you’re in that emotional/energetic state, say the affirmation:

Feel the gratitude and feel-good chemicals expand in your body as you repeat it.
3. Love Vibe: Amplifying with Divine Love
If gratitude is biochemical magic, love is rocket fuel. When you say the affirmation with love in your heart, it supercharges the neural pathways you’re trying to build. We’re not talking about romantic love here, but about the deep, expansive energy of divine love or universal connection. It’s like plugging your nervous system into a higher voltage of trust and alignment.
If you resonate with this frequency of love, then tap in and connect with it in the way that works best for you and say the affirmation with love in your heart:
“I love that everything always supports my highest benefit, abundance, well-being, and flow.”

CBT, which may or may not be related, seemed like putting a butterfly bandaid, maybe 100 bandaids, on a gaping oozing wound I had lived with most of my life. I have heard of neuroplasticity, and I will use at least some of your suggestions to hopefully silence the voices from my past. Thank you, again.
